This page explains the rules we hold ourselves to. If we ever fall short of them, tell us — we'll fix it.

Independence

No brand can pay to be recommended, ranked higher, or featured. We don't accept free products in exchange for coverage. Our recommendations are our own editorial judgment, made before and independent of any commission we might earn.

Editorial and money are separated

We earn affiliate commissions when readers buy through our links (see our affiliate disclosure). Which product pays more never determines which product we recommend. When a cheaper option is the better buy, we say so and link to it — even when a pricier alternative would earn us more.

How we choose recommendations

Every pick comes from the transparent, weighted method described on our methodology page: manufacturer specs, the federal safety standards, live recall status, total cost of ownership, and current prices. We do not hands-on test in a lab, and we never claim to.

Safety comes first

We will not soften a safety point to make a sale, and we won't rank a product higher for a convenience feature that undercuts safety. On car-seat and sleep content we cite the primary standards (FMVSS 213, AAP, CPSC) directly.

Accuracy and corrections

We aim to be accurate and current, and we re-review roundups at least every six months. Prices change constantly and are pulled live, but specs and availability can still drift. If you spot an error, contact us— we correct mistakes promptly and update the "last updated" date when we make a substantive change.

No fabrication

We never invent reviews, ratings, testimonials, test results, prices, or credentials. Where a figure can't be verified, we say so rather than guess.
